PLAN A VISIT
Sunday School
Emmanuel’s Sunday School offers classes for those age 3 through elementary school from September until June. Children begin each Sunday in Church at 10:00 am with their families and then go to their classes about 20 minutes into the service.
Classes end at about 11:15 at which time the children rejoin their families for refreshment and fellowship. Their courses make use of one of the standard curricula published for children of the Episcopal Church.
ADULT CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
In addition to the children’s Sunday School program, Emmanuel offers a variety of opportunities for adults to grow in their faith. Twice monthly, Adult Forum meets between the 8 am and 10 am Sunday services. The Collect of the Day is usually the conversation starter, but sometimes we offer other programs, such as a series on the Nicene Creed in the Fall of 2024. Inquirers/Episcopal 101 classes are offered periodically for those who are considering formally joining the Episcopal Church. Learn More about Christian Enrichment & Exploration.
COFFEE HOUR
All are welcome to join us for fellowship following the 10 am service and to enjoy a cup of coffee and light refreshments.
BOOK CLUB
Emmanuel Reads Book club is returning after a winter hiatus due to the snow and extreme cold weather. Next book up is “Captain Kate” by Carolyn Reeder. It is about a family working and living on the C&O Canal during the Civil War. Emmanuel Reads typically meets in the Parish Hall after coffee hour following the 10 am service. Stay tuned for the next planned meeting date.
